My early occupation as a residential designer and space planner formed the foundation for my interest in the visual arts. I began painting with watercolours in 1982 under the mentorship of Stanford Perrott and worked with the Cochrane Art Club in Alberta. After receiving my BEd at the University of Victoria in 1997, specializing in Art Education, a new interest in painting began with the exploration of acrylics and abstraction. My practice has included numerous art courses at the Vancouver Island School of Art since 2006.
